Founder, Wee PR / Underground Sounds

I founded Underground Sounds Edinburgh in 2018, which started out as a promotions based company putting on sell out shows in the likes of Sneaky Petes and Legends in Edinburgh. Since then Underground Sounds has become a hub of finding out what is going on in the Scottish Music Scene with a frequently updated Spotify playlist, gig recommendations and tracks of the week. I have put on a host of music based events over the years, most recently putting on an International Women’s Day show at MacArts, Galashiels with Swim School and Her Picture. Founding has led me to opportunities such as being a speaker at Off The Record, a nominator for Scottish Album of The Year Award and for Wide Day's. Underground Sounds won Indie Business of The Year in both 2020 & 2021.

Since starting Underground Sounds I have also been a music journalist for Spotlight Music UK and GIG.Mouth music, co-founded independent record label Wee Records and co-hosted and co-founded Good Soup, a radio show on EHFM highlighting the best of upcoming Scottish Music.

In 2021 I started my own PR company Wee PR. Having predominantly done promoter work when the pandemic hit, I had to adapt and transfer my skill. I’ve worked with a range of Scottish artists such as Silvi, Arcade State, Majesty Palm, Lo Rays and Feels Like Pluto.

I graduated with a first class honours degree in Music Business in 2022, I then began working in the music industry full time. I have worked on a freelance basis with Born To Be Wide, A Modern Way and Aimless Play. In June 2022 I began my job as a social media manager at MacArts and I am currently employed there.

I have a passion for accessibility in the music industry and in summer of 2023 I created Access Guides for TRNSMT and Connect music festivals. The guides were created from the perspective of somebody who suffers from panic attacks and anxiety and drew on my own personal experiences of going to festivals whilst dealing with panic disorder and anxiety.
