Aleena
Aleena is a singer-songwriter of Nigerian heritage, raised in the north of Scotland and living in Glasgow. Driven by a passion for music and storytelling, she started making music during the pandemic, learning how to turn musical ideas into reality. Last year, Aleena built momentum with four releases ahead of her debut EP with one single, ‘Middle Of May’, earning Track of the Week on Introducing Scotland.
Her debut EP - RAW, was released at the end of 2025 and is a four-track project exploring vulnerability and emotion, showcasing her most honest work yet. Inspired by some of her most personal experiences, the project reflects her growth as a songwriter, moving beyond storytelling into a deeper form of emotional processing and self-expression.
In recognition of her growing presence within the Scottish music scene, Aleena was named a finalist for the Sound of Young Scotland Award at the 2025 SAY Awards and recently performed at PITCH international festival. She also recently won Sofar Sound’s ‘Crowd Curated Choice’ and will be performing at Sofar Sound Fringe Festival in mid October.
