Dan Thomson

Musician, The Zebecks

Dan is a songwriter, musician, poet, and the lead vocalist of Scottish Indie band The Zebecks.

“I formed The Zebecks as a teenager in 2019 and have developed the project from a school hobby to a promising act within the wider UK music scene. Taking a leadership role, I have spearheaded the release of two demo EPs and six single releases - while overseeing visual direction, online and in-person marketing, and social media management.

I have performed on notable stages across Scotland and the UK - including King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and The Barrowlands - and have appeared at festivals such as Liverpool Sound City and Tenement Trail. I have also engaged with events such as Wide Days and Resonate, and am a member of the SMIA, PRS, and PPL. Throughout my journey, I have collaborated with industry professionals from DF Concerts, BBC Introducing, PR firms, and artist management teams.

Although I am still in the early stages of my career, I have significant experience in the grassroots music sector and am always open to sharing knowledge with fellow emerging artists and professionals.

With an honours degree in English Literature, I specialise in lyricism and poetry, and I hope to evolve my career into professional songwriting. Alongside music, I have worked as a supervisor at Dakota Hotels for nearly four years, gaining a practical understanding of maintaining a work-life balance as a young creative. I am also passionate about championing mental health awareness as I continue to grow within the music industry.”
