Alcatraz are an alternative rock band based in Glasgow. Inspired by artists such as The Mysterines, Kasabian, Fat Dog, Queens of the Stone Age and The Prodigy. Since their debut in September 2024, Alcatraz have played 4 King Tut's shows, 3 all-day festivals (Houseguest, Tenement Trail and Fheadain), Belladrum festival and a gig in the capital. As well as many other shows in Glasgow's most infamous venues.

The band initially began with school friends Eleanor Bellard, Aaron Stokes, Declan McGroarty and Peter Docherty and later the addition of guitarist Robbie McNeish. As of October 2025, the band’s lineup has evolved again, welcoming Olivia Howard on bass and relocating Declan McGroarty to synth and guitar. This lineup change has allowed the band to expand and experiment sonically, as can be heard with their newest single Nowhere Man (10/10/25).

Alcatraz were crowned winners of Tenement TV’s “New artist competition” for 2025, granting them significant slots at some of Scotland’s biggest festivals; Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival and Tenement Trail. As the opening act of Tenement Trail, the venue was packed and the band kicked things off in true Alcatraz style.

Sedation, You Make Me Bleed, and Nowhere Man were released by the band between November 2024 and October 2025. These three singles showcase the band’s growth, progression and versatility in their music, and have warranted the band radio play on BBC Scotland’s Introducing show and BBC 6 Music’s Introducing show.

Now solidified in their identity as a 6-piece, the band are hungry for more.
