Ben Proudlock
The Mash House
Ben Proudlock is a Venue and Events Manager from Edinburgh, currently working at The Mash House (Formerly the GRV) just off the Cowgate. Ben has been working as the Venue and Events Manager at The Mash House for nearly three years, booking/sourcing outside promoters/event organisers, in-house events (live, club and function) and generally looking after the venue on a day to day basis.
The Mash House had been through various names/shapes since it’s GRV glory days, leaving it somewhat confused, and unbelievably, unable to host live music. Within a few months of employment, Ben and the team at The Mash House transformed what was two mouldy microphones, a stage no larger than a kitchen table (with absolutely no lighting) and one very, very broken monitor into a fantastic live, club and creative space with a high-spec technical rider.
This year alone The Mash House has been lucky enough to have worked alongside The Skinny (Hosting their 10th Birthday with Stillhound, Substance, Neu Reekie and Detour), DF Concerts, Regular Music, Synergy Concerts, PCL Presents, Samedia Shebeen, Lezure, SLVR, SEPE Events, Hit The Road, The Hit Point, Just The Tonic and a whole array of fantastic in-house/co-pro shows.
